Summer Lodge
If you are looking for detail, exceptional service and ne dining in an environment t, and indeed built, for nobility then Summer Lodge is for you. Set in over four acres of gardens, in rolling countryside on the Dorset and Somerset border the Georgian hotel is home to one of the nest restaurants in the area.
Quintessentially English, a characteristic that is highlighted by the agship table decorations, your Summer Lodge experience is guaranteed to be impressive, satisfying and memorable, and this is not only down to the dining experience but is also thanks to the level of attention and standards adopted by the whole team.
The décor is sumptuous and classic. Drinks in the bar are served in a seamless manner and service throughout the evening is instinctive and unobtrusive.
A glass of Edouard Brun Cuvée Speciale Champagne served in the drawing room on deep and cosy sofas and chairs along with pulled pork canapés, cherry tomatoes stu ed with avocado and cheese straws that literally melt in the mouth.
Advice on wines to accompany menu choices are a pleasure to behold from head sommelier Eric Zwiebel, who has been bestowed with the ‘Best Award of Excellence’ from Wine Spectator every year since 2005. His wine wonderland cellar, featuring over 1400 bins, is infamous and to chat through his recent acquisitions and recommendations is an utter pleasure for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
The seven-course tasting menu by chef Steven Titman and his brigade is at the top end of the Feast price point and with wines to accompany from Eric, it may stretch the average
